Flexible spending plans offer a convenient way to save on taxes while paying for eligible health care and dependent care expenses.

Health & Well-Being Tools

The links below will help with reviewing your options:

Health Care Flexible Spending Account

The Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) allows you to use before-tax dollars to pay eligible health care expenses. If you do not enroll in the HDHP option, you can contribute to a HCFSA.

You have until March of the following calendar year to submit claims for qualified medical expenses incurred in the current calendar year. Any unused funds will be forfeited.

For more information on eligible expenses or how to use your debit card, visit the Smart-Choice Accounts Learning Portal.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account

The Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) allows you to use before-tax dollars to pay eligible dependent care expenses so you and your spouse (if you’re married) can work. Qualified expenses include childcare services for children under the age of 13 or to care for a disabled spouse or dependent of any age.

You have until March of the following calendar year to submit claims for qualified dependent care expenses incurred in the current calendar year. Any unused funds will be forfeited.
