Getting married or divorced are complex life changes with many legal and practical details to consider – from changes to your name and dependents to updating benefit elections and beneficiaries.

In addition to all the decisions about wedding or household arrangements, you will also want to think about how the change in your marital status will affect your Phillips 66 benefits coverage.

To help you think about how your life change will affect you, review the following list.

Are you changing your last name and/or address?
  • Change your last name and address on file with Phillips 66 through HR Connections at 1-855-480-6634. See Status Changes.
  • Update your personal information through your local Social Security Administration office and Department of Motor Vehicles.
How are you managing the transition? Life changes can be stressful. Resources for Living has information and online tools like Talkspace to assist you during this time.
Will you need to make changes to your Phillips 66 benefits coverage? The changes available to you, and the deadline for making changes, depend on your situation.
Have your options for health care changed as a result of your change in status? If your spouse has employer-provided coverage, compare plans to see which coverage you are now eligible for and best suits your needs. If you have children, whose employer plan will cover them going forward as dependents?
Will your health care and/or daycare expenses increase? Consider if you’ll need to contribute or increase contributions to the Health Care and Dependent Care FSAs. If you participate in the HDHP with HSA medical option, consider if you’ll need to increase or decrease contributions to the Health Savings Account (keep in mind that IRS annual limits is different for individuals and families)
Does your spouse have Phillips 66 life and/or AD&D insurance coverage? Will you need to adjust the amount of your life and/or AD&D insurance coverage? Consider if you need to elect spouse life or AD&D insurance.
Will you be adjusting your retirement savings goals? With a growing family, you may want to re-evaluate your saving and investing strategy.
